화투 wallpapers (incomplete)

January - no description

February - no description

March - the month of sakura, cherry blossom in English. Sakura is japanese national flower and has various deep meanings. This wallpaper features Japanese poem by Saigyo Hoshi (西行 法師), one of the most famous ancient poets. It's translated into the following: "I would die in the spring, under the blossoms, in the second month at the time of the full moon." Note that the month this actually refers to is February(Kisagari; 如月), not March as it's supposed to be, but according to lunar calendar, this is approximately March in Gregorian calendar. This comes with two versions: normal and sidebar-friendly.

April - no description.

May - Iris, 菖. famous for straightness.

June - most fucked up wallpaper so far. Must be redone. I'm going to shoot pictures of peony by myself.

July - one sidebar friendly version, and doesn't-matter version

August - Unfortunately, this doesn come in side-bar friendly version. Like march, this features a poem by Saigyo Hoshi (西行 法師). It translates into the following:
"My mind I send
with the moon
that goes beyond the mountain,
but what of this body
left behind in darkness?"
Actually, the black part of hanafuda card is not mountain but susuki (chinese silver grass), but it's widely misunderstood as moutain. so what the heck. i chose mountain. they don't give a shit anyway

Unfinished 화투 desktop wallpapers.
